Hello and happy Monday! Did you all have a great weekend? I hope so! Mine was pretty low key. I’m not sure what was going on but I was just extremely tired and didn’t want to do anything (at all!) other than just chill on the couch and watch TV. I even took a nap on Saturday afternoon. This is pretty unusual for me. I’m feeling back to “normal” now and must have needed some down time. Regardless, that means that I didn’t do much this weekend other than the necessities.
There are many perks to my new parking spot but one, which I didn’t think I would really use or that wasn’t really on the top of my list, was a community laundry room. I live on a property with 4 other “residences” and we all have access to a washer and dryer in a building on the property. As I have laundry unit in my house I didn’t think I would use these community ones as it’s just more convenient to do it inside my house. Well, I have actually utilized a full size laundry AND the dryer on the property.
As the temperature is climbing (ok, it never really got cold) whenever I use the dryer in my unit, it heats up the whole house – which isn’t good when I have to use the air conditioner to cool the house. I don’t mind line drying most of my clothes but I really don’t have any room to spread out my queen size bed sheets to let them dry. At my old location I used the outside laundry line to dry these big items. Plus there is something nice about how they feel hot out of the dyer (you know what I’m talking about!). So, I washed my bed sheets and comforter in the community laundry and it made it much better than struggling with drying those sheets in my tiny house. =)
Now, the struggle with washing the bed sheets is making the bed. I struggle to make a bed when I can stand and walk around the bed so now that it’s in a loft with limited head room – it adds a new level of “fun” to the event. It’s not bad as I have a system now in which I put the corners on the bed in the low end of the loft and then stretch it out to the higher side in which I can squat to place the edges around the mattress. Seems like common sense but it took a few times to figure out this strategy. Probably too much information but that seems to be a common tiny house questions or comment that comes up when people dis tiny house living. =)
Hope you have a great Monday!
